Our Mission:
To continue our goal of "Helping Others... Help Themselves."
Our Vision:
To provide hearing aids to those who are financially disadvantaged. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live in the wonderful world of Sound.
Our Inspiration:
There are more than 40 million people in the U.S. who have hearing impairment severe enough to require an aid/s. While all of those with hearing loss may benefit from a hearing aid/s, approximately 30% of those individuals cannot afford one. That's over 12 million people in the U.S. who cannot afford an aid/s.
Hearing loss, once considered age related, has reached alarming proportions among all of those under the age of 60. In fact, more people under 60 have hearing loss than over the age of 60 according to noted audiologist David Lipscomb, PhD. Hearing loss has become an international epidemic as a direct result of environmental noise.
Based on the facts above, that means:
  • More than 12 million people of all ages may need a hearing device but cannot afford an aid/s as needed.
  • If more people under the age of 60 have acquired hearing loss that means they are either at school age, college age, entering the job market or mid-life and that is at a time when one needs to be able to hear in order to learn and / or demonstrate one's capabilities in the job market as well as being able to compete with those who can hear.
  • It also means there are a lot of people without hearing aids who are driving vehicles and cannot hear all the noises around them and that puts them in danger; danger not only to themselves but others as well.
That, in and of itself, is reason enough to provide Free hearing aids.
